Echoes of Martí in Trova and Teaching (+ Video)

Jan, 2026.- Upon hearing their voices, a shiver runs through the body. In the harmony of talent and the strength of musicality, the figure of José Martí shines as a perpetual beacon. Under that light rise names that have left an indelible mark on Cuban culture: the troubadour Eduardo Sosa, with a song that touches the root of the genuine, and the teacher Corina Mestre, whose words and dedication created a legacy of sensitivity and commitment.

They, like the Apostle of Independence, are living memory, a pulse passed from generation to generation. In every performance by Sosa beats the essence of trova, and in every gesture of Mestre is recognized the dignity of teaching that ennobles.

To evoke them this Martí January is to understand that culture transcends stages and classrooms, becoming an everyday presence, a shared identity, a collective pride. Sosa and Mestre are part of that spiritual heritage that reminds us that beauty, truth, and justice can be expressed through music, word, and action.

They are, and will continue to be, eternal in the memory of a people.
