Havana, Cuba – The Cuban Baseball and Softball Federation announced this Thursday the roster of the Island for the 6th World Baseball Classic, composed of two catchers, 12 position players, and 16 pitchers.
According to the organization in a statement, the selection process was complicated by the time required for the organizers to obtain the permit managed by them with the United States government, an essential requirement to invite Cuba.
The text mentioned that the team managed to bring together players affiliated with MLB, the Japanese Professional Baseball League, other Caribbean leagues, and the National Series.
As part of the preparation, a training camp will be held in Nicaragua, and then the team will play two exhibition games in Arizona, United States, against the Kansas City Royals and the Cincinnati Reds.
