Camagüey.- A solemn ceremony was held at the Plaza de la Revolución Mayor General Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz to honor those who have dedicated their lives to the people's health, as part of the activities commemorating the centennial of the birth of Fidel Castro Ruz.
The Manuel Piti Fajardo distinction was awarded to 32 workers who, through teaching and medical assistance, sustain the training of new generations and direct care to the community.
Dr. Rolando Rodríguez Puga received the Juan Tomás Roig distinction, in recognition of his research contributions that strengthen medical science in the province.
The Internationalist Worker Medal honored 15 professionals who fulfilled missions outside of Cuba, bringing not only health services but also solidarity and humanism.
During the meeting, the careers of three nurses with more than half a century of service were exalted: María Morales Pérez, Zaida Luisa Olivera Bou, and Rafaela Castro Rondón, symbols of dedication and perseverance.
