In the face of Israel's genocide against Palestine, young people from Camagüey raised their voices this Thursday to demand an immediate end to a massacre that has claimed more than 67,000 lives.

That heroic people, said Mónica Enamorado Pí, a member of the University Student Federation at the Carlos J. Finlay University of Medical Sciences in Camagüey, constitutes an example of selflessness and patriotism, and at the same time, a living symbol of the greatest crime of our time.

Palestine, said Daniel Pérez Masaguer, a member of the Union of Young Communists (UJC) at that academic institution, has been silenced, dispossessed, and attacked for decades, but never defeated, despite the bombs, the ruins, and the deaths of thousands of civilians, especially women and children.

Young Cubans, he noted, understand the value of sovereignty, the right to self-determination, and the importance of human dignity, because the universities of Cuba not only train professionals, but also women and men committed to supporting people who suffer.

For her part, Bárbara Jiménez Serrano, a member of the Federation of High School Students, condemned the violations against children, the blockade of humanitarian aid, hunger, forced displacement, and the destruction of life itself in that sister nation.

From Camagüey, said Yelenis Casillas Águila, a pioneer of the Revolución de Octubre elementary school, we children send a huge hug to Palestine, because although distance separates us, we are united by dreams and love.

In Cuba, she added, we learn to be supportive, and he asserted that the world has eyes that look with tenderness, hearts that beat for Palestinian civilians, and voices that rise to defend the right to peace because the children of Palestine deserve a joyful childhood, free from bombs and tears.

We are called together today by the duty to demand an end to the Israeli genocide against the Palestinian people, because we Cubans know about resistance, blockades, threats, and what it means to confront giants, said Heinier Lian Carvajo Baxter, first secretary of the Provincial Committee of the UJC in Camagüey.
