According to a post on the CPLL Facebook page, the contest will be governed by the poetry genre and all writers residing in the national territory may participate.
The works must have a minimum length of 60 pages and a maximum of 80, in letter size, one and a half line spacing, Arial font size 12, with pages duly numbered.
The texts must be submitted signed with a pseudonym, in digital format, to the email address
Two PDF documents must be attached: the first identified with the title of the work and the pseudonym, and the second titled Plica–pseudonym. The latter must include the author's personal information: full name, identity card number, home address, email address, phone number, and a brief biographical profile. Works that do not meet these requirements will be disqualified.
A jury made up of writers with recognized careers will evaluate the submissions, which will be accepted from now until January 20, 2026. The award will be announced in February, in accordance with the schedule of celebrations of Culture Week in the City of the Tinajones.
The winner will receive a single prize of 40,000 Cuban pesos, a diploma, and the publication of the work in electronic format by Ácana Publishing, with the corresponding payment of author’s rights once published.
Participation in this contest constitutes an invitation to celebrate the word as memory and creation, to engage in dialogue through poetry with the history, identity, and spirit of Camagüey. The City Prize thus opens a space for contemporary voices to find in verse an act of belonging, homage, and permanence.
