Plenary Session of the Party in Guáimaro Calls to Transform Results for Local Development (+Photos)

Guáimaro, Feb 18 - With a view to the projections of the 11th Plenary Session of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and the objectives of the Government Program to correct distortions and boost the economy, this Tuesday the Party Plenary in Guáimaro highlighted the commitment of party members to strengthening the work of the political vanguard and meeting the indicators for municipal development.

Walter Simón Noris, First Secretary of the Provincial Committee of the PCC in Camagüey, emphasized the need for a comprehensive transformation of the territory’s overall results through greater utilization of the demarcation’s potential.

Leading the discussion alongside the main authorities of Guaimaro, the leader delved into what can be achieved in the Cradle of the Constitution, with a focus on food production; contracting milk, meat, and various crops; linking with the non-state sector; developing exportable products such as charcoal and honey; and import substitution.

Similarly, the exchange addressed the assurance of the national electrical system through the change of the energy matrix, and the application of science and innovation in everything undertaken.

Simón Noris highlighted the mission of the Party, the Government, the Union of Young Communists (UJC), and mass organizations in these complex times, a reason that compels the improvement of the functioning of grassroots structures with exemplary conduct, preparation, leadership, combativeness against wrongdoing, discipline, and rigor in the analysis of problems.

The Party Plenum in the easternmost municipality of Camagüey highlighted shortcomings as well as the path to solutions from the local environment, the main setting for fulfilling commitments and actions for the nation’s socioeconomic development.
