Guáimaro, Aug 5.- Despite the complex economic situation facing the country, the Cuban Telecommunications Company (ETECSA) in Guáimaro is working tirelessly to achieve a true digital transformation; however, the results of this immense effort are not yet apparent.
During the current year, the entity worked on improving the base station supporting third-generation (3G) technology in the community of Cascorro, while simultaneously deploying fourth-generation (4G) cellular telephony in that area.
For its part, the Martí local council also benefited from both 3G and 4G, which enabled greater data transmission coverage and Internet access in that area by bringing an antenna supporting several services into operation.
In the easternmost of the Camagüey municipalities, ETECSA also worked on the direct fiber optic connection with the provincial node to maintain network connectivity during power outages in the local circuits.
