Guáimaro, Aug 8.- Motivated by the centenary of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, workers from the Guáimaro Municipal Art Gallery are currently holding exhibitions of works by visual artists at local workplaces.

According to statements by Licentiate Carmen Arias Betancourt, director of the institution, the initiative is part of the activity plan designed by the local Culture sector to also honor the 50th anniversary of the local organs of People's Power.

At the Radio Guáimaro station, the display of an oil painting by Yaimel Castañeda González provided insight, from the artist's perspective, into the work performed in the sugarcane plantations during the 1970s.

The Guáimaro Art Gallery, located on Avenida de la Libertad, between Benito Morell and Braulio Peña, is currently hosting a comprehensive exhibition on ceramics by the experienced local creator Luis Gondres Migüel.
