USA, Aug 18.- US President Donald Trump threatened to mercilessly bomb Oman if the Persian Gulf nation stands in his way.
"If Oman stands in our way, we will bomb them to hell," the leader told Fox News while commenting on the talks between Muscat and Tehran regarding the control of the Strait of Hormuz.
At the same time, the White House occupant stated that Iran "should raise the white flag of surrender" in the current conflict with the US, adding that he "is in no hurry." Furthermore, he indicated that the leaders of the Islamic Republic possess strategic skill, although he warned about their internal situation. "They are good poker players, but they are dying," he said.
Trump's statements came after the Iranian Foreign Ministry announced last Saturday that an understanding has been reached with Oman regarding maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz. "Despite obstructions by the US, negotiations between Iran and Oman have progressed positively, and an agreement has been reached on a maritime traffic plan," spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei noted.
