Guáimaro, Dec. 12 - The sustainability of good practices in combating the mosquito and arboviral diseases is a priority in Guáimaro, where the battle against the vector calls upon all government structures and the community due to the high transmission and incidence of illness caused by the epidemic.

In a meeting with the main leaders and administrative officials of the easternmost municipality in Camagüey, the provincial Governor, Jorge Enrique Sutil Sarabia, highlighted this Thursday the importance of meeting the technical indicators established for focal and adulticidal treatment, medical assistance, and primary health care, with the aim of reversing the current situation in the territory, which is one of the most affected alongside Nuevitas, Santa Cruz del Sur, and Florida.
Regarding the ongoing exchange and decision-making on the epidemiological situation, he emphasized the necessary and effective participation of representatives from popular councils and electoral districts, presidents of defense zones, delegates, and local entities.
Sutil Sarabia also warned about the speculation and political-ideological subversion surrounding the issue promoted by some ill-intentioned media outlets, which undermine the Cuban health system; therefore, he called to dispel the population’s doubts through specialized information from medical professionals and health authorities.

Meanwhile, Alexander Massagué Álvarez, member of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and its first secretary in Guáimaro, stressed the responsibility of various sectors in supporting the General Health Directorate and its structures in febrile screening, as well as ensuring transport for Municipal Services by organizations to carry out cleaning actions.
In his speech, Massagué Álvarez highlighted the community’s role in this collective fight, while reaffirming the commitment to hold a municipal event on December 19 in celebration of the 67th anniversary of the Revolution, with a cleaner and more beautiful Guáimaro.
The meeting also counted on the presence of the Provincial Health Director, Carlos Morán Giraldo; the President of the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power, Yelenis Saavedra Tamayo; and the Mayor, Jorge Suárez Tamayo. (Photos: Héctor Espinosa Sánchez)
