March 4, 2026 – On the fourth day of March, Cuba celebrates the Hotel and Tourism Workers’ Day, a date that pays tribute to Elpidio Casimiro Sosa, a young revolutionary who participated in the assault on the Moncada Barracks and lost his life in that action on July 26, 1953.
At the easternmost tip of the Camagüey territories lies the Monte Oscuro Popular Camping Base, where the workers provide quality service that ensures the enjoyment of visitors.
This facility, closely connected to nature, offers multiple recreational options: a swimming pool, sports courts, a dance area, and board games.

Many families consider it an ideal destination to enjoy not only tranquility but also the lush vegetation and the fresh country air.
Located near the Galbis people's council, this camping site was established in 1981 and, since 2009, has been part of the Ministry of Tourism.
It is worth highlighting that, after the celebration of Sector Day, it is reaffirmed that work in tourism is synonymous with dedication and commitment.
