Guáimaro, January 18 - The Municipal Directorate of Public Health, in the easternmost part of the Camagüey territory, is carrying out prevention activities in schools and communities with the aim of reducing teenage pregnancy.
Among the initiatives implemented are parent schools, educational talks, distribution of informational brochures, and question-and-answer sessions with the nurse and the family doctor.
Pregnancy at an early age represents an additional risk, as it sometimes causes premature births due to the immaturity of the reproductive organs. Likewise, obstetric complications such as high blood pressure, gestational diabetes, and difficulties in uterine contraction can occur, conditions that in many cases lead to hemorrhages.
