Guáimaro, April 22 — Despite the tense economic situation facing the country, five pounds of rice per consumer are being distributed across the province of Camagüey and all its municipalities, thanks to a donation from the People's Republic of China.
The delivery began through the Guáimaro Sur local council and three stores in Guáimaro Norte: Las Delicias, El Faro, and La Excelente.
At the time of this report, confirmation from the Provincial Command Post was awaited regarding the completion of the remaining grain distribution.
Once the shipment reaches the warehouses of the local Food Wholesaler Company (EMPA), distribution will immediately proceed to the remaining stores in the Guáimaro territory that have not yet received the donation.
According to statements by Valia Sánchez Bacallao, director of the Base Business Unit (UEB) 904, part of the regional EMPA, during this April, one pound of sugar (corresponding to the February-December period) was also delivered, along with three pounds of released domestic rice at a differentiated price of 155 pesos.
This new gesture from the Chinese government toward Cuba once again demonstrates the world's solidarity with the Greater Antilles, which is constantly besieged by the severe economic, commercial, financial, and energy blockade imposed by the Washington administrations, as well as the defamatory media campaign orchestrated from abroad.
