Camagüey returns to normal after Hurricane Melissa

The General Staff of the National Civil Defense reported in information note No. 5 that the province of Camagüey returned to normal at 5:30 p.m. on October 29, after no damage was reported from Hurricane Melissa.

The measure was adopted after the territory remained in Cyclonic Alert Phase, and it was directed to keep the defense council activated in a reduced composition.

In its report, the institution acknowledged the work of the governing bodies, the media and the people of Camagüey for the discipline and solidarity shown in complying with the measures during the preparations and response to the event.

NATIONAL CIVIL DEFENSE STAFF INFORMATION NOTE NO. 5 ON HURRICANE MELISSA

October 29th, 2025, 4:00 PM

Hurricane Melissa caused no damage in Camagüey province, which is currently under a hurricane warning. Therefore, as of 5:30 p.m. today, the province will resume normal activities. The provincial defense council will remain activated with reduced personnel.

The work carried out in this territory by the governing bodies, the media and the population is recognized, for the discipline and solidarity shown in complying with the measures directed during the preparations and the response to this event.
