Medical Sciences strengthens its communication processes

With the active participation of faculty and students from the Faculty of Medicine, the Carlos J. Finlay University of Medical Sciences of Camagüey began an unprecedented and transformative process: the development of its first institutional communication strategy.

Until now, the university lacked a clear roadmap for managing its internal and external communications, resulting in gaps in information transmission, disparate messages, and limited visibility of its achievements in public and digital spaces.

With the goal of reversing this situation, a team of communications advisors has begun working collaboratively with faculty members, researchers, and teaching staff. Through personalized interviews and participatory workshops, key information is being gathered to construct a coherent narrative that represents the institution's identity, mission, and values, in tune with current times.

"We want the university community to feel part of this process. The strategy will not be an imposed document, but rather a tool built from the voices of the university," said Vice Dean Ivisel Infante.

This process not only seeks to improve the flow of information among the various university departments, but also to enhance the faculty's presence on social media, digital media, and scientific outreach platforms.

The strategy will include guidelines for content creation, spokesperson protocols, institutional campaigns, and a communications agenda that highlights the university's academic, cultural, and social contributions.

With this initiative, the University is entering a new stage of institutional maturity, committing to more strategic and inclusive communication aligned with contemporary challenges.

The university community will be periodically informed about the progress of the process, and the final strategy is expected to be ready for implementation next semester.
