Havana, Nov 7 - The Ibero-American Congress on Science and Technology Management, Ibergecyt 2025, concludes today at the Palace of Conventions in Havana with the conference “The Difficult Task of Building Systems of Science, Technology, and Innovation.”
The conference will be delivered by Dr. Jorge Núñez Jover, a full and emeritus professor at the University of Havana, who is also an advisor to the president of the National Council of Innovation and the Minister of Science, Technology, and the Environment of Cuba.
The activities on this Friday at Ibergecyt 2025 also include the award ceremony and the keynote lecture “Governance of Science in Health: Challenges for Health Innovation,” presented by Dr. Ileana Morales Suárez, the national director of Science and Technological Innovation at the Ministry of Public Health.
Additionally, as part of the workshop “Governance of Science in Health,” there will be panels titled “Cuba's Biomedical Cluster: An Experience to Connect Science and Innovation Ecosystems” and “Integrated Cuban Health Strategy with a One Health Approach.”
Parallel to the event, the Innovation Fair for the Development of Havana is also taking place on this final date, where various entities are presenting their products, solutions, and commercial offers. This space serves as a useful platform for establishing contacts between companies.
The event, organized by the Knowledge and Technology Management Company (Gecyt), which is part of the InnoMAX Business Group and the Ministry of Science, Technology, and the Environment, was aimed at entrepreneurs, government representatives, innovators, scientists, academics, and students.
Participants also included staff from Cuban and Mexican universities, information centers, and scientific and technological parks, as well as various economic actors.
