Havana, Cuba. – The Finlay Institute of Vaccines (IFV) of Cuba and the Vietnamese vaccine and biological products company Vabiotech signed a technology transfer contract this Wednesday in the Vietnamese capital for the final production stages of the VA-MENGOC-BC vaccine, the IFV reported on its social media.
According to the IFV director, Yury Valdés Balbín, who also shared the news on his Facebook account, this agreement represents the most important and complex technical challenge undertaken jointly and reflects the transformative power of science when built in solidarity among nations.
For Cuba, this achievement reaffirms science as an effective shield against the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States and projects a national innovation capable of establishing alliances based on respect and collaboration.
For Vietnam, the agreement strengthens its self-sufficiency in public health, promotes the development of the national biotechnology industry, generates high-skilled employment, and fosters prosperity aligned with its vision of independent and sovereign development.
