Camagüey, Cuba. – The Provincial Pediatric Hospital Eduardo Agramonte Piña in Camagüey maintains its Center for Oncology Patient Care, where children and adolescents from the local area, as well as from Ciego de Ávila and Las Tunas, are received.
Dr. Juan Carlos Arranz, head of the service, reported that currently three young patients are hospitalized in the oncology ward and four in Hematology, while outpatient treatments are being carried out thanks to transportation provided by Medibus, which is currently prioritized.
Yurislaisis Conde Sánchez, mother of a patient from Ciego de Ávila who has been followed for three years, highlighted the quality of care despite the complex economic situation.
The Pediatric Onco-Hematology Service in Camagüey ensures the necessary protocols; however, it faces difficulties with nuclear magnetic resonance imaging, which requires referring cases to Cienfuegos and Villa Clara.
