The capacity for prenatal diagnosis is strengthened

Santiago de Cuba, Cuba. – With the aim of strengthening prenatal diagnosis at the primary healthcare level, specialists from the Maternal and Child Care Program (PAMI) are participating in the Provincial Electrocardiography Course, which was held today in Santiago de Cuba as part of an ongoing training strategy.

The event, which will continue until next Friday at the Provincial Center of Medical Genetics, brings together professionals involved in prenatal diagnosis and comprehensive care for pregnant women, with the purpose of equipping them with knowledge and skills for the early detection of conditions that may affect maternal and fetal health.

Dr. Valia Hernández, a second-degree specialist in Imaging, explained that this initiative is part of the Center’s educational work and emphasized the importance of updating knowledge to improve the quality of care for pregnant women referred with an increased risk of chromosomal diseases or congenital defects.

The Provincial Electrocardiography Course is part of PAMI’s strategy to improve the quality of medical services aimed at the maternal and pediatric population in Santiago de Cuba through the scientific and technical advancement of healthcare professionals.
