The national baseball administration revealed this Tuesday the 59-player roster that will form the Cuban team for the first edition of the Copa América Baseball tournament next November.
The Cuban roster includes five catchers, 15 infielders, 12 outfielders, and 27 pitchers, under the leadership of coach Germán Mesa.
Germán will be accompanied by Noelvis González as bench coach; Humberto Guevara as head coach; Omar Linares as hitting coach; Jesús Bosmenier and Pedro Luis Lazo as pitching coaches; and coaches Rafael Muñoz and Cecilio Javier Dreke.
At the meeting, it was confirmed that this same coaching staff would assume the team's leadership for the VI World Baseball Classic in 2026, if the United States government ultimately grants the license for the largest island in the Antilles to participate in that tournament.
Cuba will play the preliminary phase of the Copa América in Venezuela from November 12-17, where Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, and Curaçao have also been placed.
The other segment, based in Panama, also the final venue, includes Puerto Rico, Colombia, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, and the hosts.
