Tehran, March 2nd - Iran announced today the death of seven other high-ranking military commanders as a result of attacks launched by the United States and Israel against its territory.
The information was disclosed in a statement from the Foundation for the Protection and Promotion of Defense and Resistance Values, an entity affiliated with the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces.
According to the note, among the deceased are Major General Mohammad Shirazi, Secretary of the Office of the Supreme Leader of Iran; his deputy, Major General Akbar Ebrahimzadeh; and Mohseni Motlaq, head of the Planning and Operations Department of the Operations Directorate of the General Staff.
Also killed were Major General Saleh Asadi, deputy head of the Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff; Gholamreza Rezaeian, head of the Intelligence Organization of the Law Enforcement Forces; Major General Hassan Ali Tajik, head of the Training Directorate of the General Staff; and Major General Mohsen Darreh Baghi, deputy head of the Training, Logistics, and Supply Directorate of the Armed Forces.
The previous day, the Iranian Armed Forces reported in another statement that the Chief of Staff, Abdolrahim Mousavi; the Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Mohammad Pakpour; the Secretary of the Supreme National Defense Council, Ali Shamkhani; and the Chief of Logistics of the Armed Forces, Aziz Nasirzadeh, died in attacks targeted against a meeting of the Supreme National Defense Council.
Since last Saturday, Israel and the United States have maintained a military offensive against Iran which, according to official reports, has caused the deaths of hundreds of people, including high-ranking political and military officials.
Tehran responded with the launching of missiles and drones towards Israeli territory, as well as with attacks against U.S. bases and interests in several Arab countries, actions that have caused casualties and damage to civilian infrastructure.
