Shakira revered in El Salvador

San Salvador, February 7th – Today, Salvadorans are preparing to honor the artistry of Colombian singer Shakira in a performance that will make history here and throughout Central America with a five-date residency.

The country’s major media outlets, including television and radio, have dedicated time in recent weeks to highlight the monumental performance by the Barranquilla-born singer.

The newspaper El Mundo noted that, after nearly 20 years without visiting the country, the Colombian star returns with a unique five-date residency.

Today, Saturday, February 7th, singer Shakira begins an unprecedented performance in the region and a one-of-a-kind event for Central America, as part of her “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” World Tour, which broke all attendance records during 2025, it specified.

The publication states that the 49-year-old “cafetera” (a colloquial nickname for Colombians) comes consecrated as the greatest Latin star in history and has left her mark on several generations with her music, featuring hits spanning four decades since her debut in 1995.

But beyond the music, it added, the artist’s return also signifies a rebirth for El Salvador and its tourism sector, in a safer environment, under the leadership of President Nayib Bukele, whose administration has been involved in the logistics to welcome visitors.

The company Two Shows Producciones is in charge of the Colombian singer’s performances scheduled for February 7 and 8, as well as the 12th, 14th, and 15th, at the Jorge “Mágico” González National Stadium.

An extensive security operation was announced by government entities on Friday, February 6, including street closures and free parking planned for those arriving by vehicle.

The Latin music star arrived in the country accompanied by her children Milan and Sasha, and each of her performances will exceed two hours every night, featuring a journey through her greatest hits on a stage measuring 20 meters high by 60 meters wide, in a super production that required more than 50 trucks of equipment and three jumbo jets.
