Active residents against urban pollution

Feb, 2026.- Every day, when we step outside, we breathe an invisible mixture that directly affects our health. Air pollution has become one of the most urgent challenges today. Fighting it is a shared responsibility that begins with our daily decisions and is strengthened by demanding a cleaner future.

Although we often associate the problem with outdoor spaces, homes also play a key role. Recycling not only reduces the amount of waste that goes to landfills but also helps preserve air quality. Garbage dumps release harmful gases such as methane during waste decomposition, which worsens the environmental situation.

Green areas and trees are true urban lungs. Increasing their number and taking care of existing parks helps purify the air, as plants absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen.

Living in a polluted city does not mean resignation. There are measures to protect ourselves and those who are most vulnerable. Individual actions should be complemented by collective initiatives: participating in community projects, cleanup campaigns, or awareness campaigns amplifies the positive impact.

The sum of personal and collective efforts can make a difference. By sharing information, demanding responsible policies, and acting together, citizens become a force capable of transforming cities into healthier spaces. Air is a common good, and its care is everyone's responsibility.
