Jan, 2026. – The first time I saw the group Síntesis on stage was an unforgettable moment. I was studying at the University of Oriente in Santiago de Cuba, and that university embraced them with the overflowing passion of young people who resonated with Afro-Cuban music.
That experience opened up a universe of emotions that still accompany me, because since I was a child I declared myself a fervent follower of this group. Today, January 29, the choreographies of Opatereo and Asoyín come back to my memory—pieces that reveal the creative strength of a collective that, after half a century of existence, remains a symbol of authenticity and transcendence.
Synthesis is not just a musical project: it is a union of generations, a fusion of roots, and the voice of a people recognized in their songs. At the 41st Jazz Plaza Festival 2026, it receives much more than applause: it receives gratitude, respect, and the certainty of having planted a legacy that transcends borders and eras.

Each performance transforms into a ritual of identity, woven with spirituality and commitment. From January 25th to February 2nd, the nation celebrates those who have turned music into a bridge of life, while the world bows before a work that knows no boundaries.
This musical guild is memory, present, and future; proof that Cuban culture beats with universal energy.
Influenced in their beginnings by rock bands like Pink Floyd, Genesis, and Yes, Síntesis found the perfect formula in 1987: mixing Afro-Cuban chants with rock and jazz. That decision led them to conquer stages and, in 2022, to win the Latin Grammy with the album Ancestros Sinfónico in the category of Best Folk Album, as well as the Grand Prize Cubadisco in 2023.
