José Martí, a living legacy in every day (+ Video)

Jan, 2026.- In Guáimaro, each dawn seems to bring with it the presence of José Martí. His legacy is not limited to old pages or silent monuments; it lives in the eyes of the youth, in the words of teachers, in the dedication of those who work with the certainty that serving the homeland is also serving others.

Martí's maxim of thinking as a country gains strength in this corner of Camagüey. It is not an empty slogan, but daily practice: it is reflected in the solidarity of the neighborhoods, in the creativity of students seeking solutions for their community, in the steadfastness of farmers who cultivate the land with pride. Martí becomes a compass.

The people of Guáimaro today, heirs of that rebellious spirit that gave rise to the first Constitution of the Republic in Arms, find in Cuba's most universal figure a companion on their journey. His ideas about justice, dignity, and universality are renewed in every project and initiative aimed at improving collective life.

The relevance of the Apostle of Cuban Independence is felt in the way new generations take on contemporary challenges: from defending identity to building a more humane future. Martí, belonging to all, is not a distant figure; he is a close voice that calls for action, selfless dedication, and faith in human betterment.

Thus, in the easternmost territory of Camagüey, Martí's memory is not limited to the remembrance of dates. It is living practice, constant commitment, certainty that the nation is built with united hands and steadfast hearts.

173 years since his birth, José Martí is always with us!
