January, 2026.- José Martí, Apostle of Cuba's Independence and universal thinker, continues to be a beacon for generations.
Every January 28th, his birthday invites the entire grateful nation to honor him for his wisdom and vision of the future. Events that exalt culture, education, and memory reveal his magical and eloquent way of communicating his ideas, thoughts, and emotions.
Guáimaro, the site of the first Constitution of the Republic in Arms, every January 28th becomes a symbol of that libertarian dream Martí passionately defended, embodied in two great maxims of humanism: A free Cuba! A united America!
And what can be said of his poetry and essays—they are hymns of dignity and justice.
In this first month of the year 2026, nature, which the most universal of Cubans turned into a metaphor of resistance, rises as an echo of his eternal voice, forever immortal.
What pride to proclaim that, in every child, young person, and adult, his legacy beats, reminding us that the flags of freedom must never fall!

In Constitución Park, beneath the grandeur of the Obelisk dedicated to the Constituent Assembly members it guards with legends, the pioneering and hardworking people paid tribute to the teacher who sang about women, children, and the sorrows of the homeland.

This Wednesday, during its twenty-eighth session, in the easternmost territory of Camagüey, during a Martian parade, it was once again confirmed that José Martí is never absent: he remains, pulses, and is reborn to remind us that the homeland is land, flag, and in the fullest sense of the word—humanity!
