For the farmers of Guáimaro, efficiency in the first step (+ Audio)

Feb, 2026.- Diudmel Jiménez Peña, president of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP) in Guáimaro, states that the peasantry of the easternmost territory of Camagüey is leading exchanges, assemblies, and dialogues, focusing on issues of interest and needs to be addressed from the grassroots, especially those most pressing in these difficult times.

Adding to the above is the most important principle of the sector: defending the Revolution and, with it, the homeland, always humanistic, supportive, and socialist.

Currently, the region has 955 farms; these are taking the first steps in agroecology, with 5 already gaining points in favor of this initiative and 2 included among the new proposals.

The challenge is set; more than a goal, it is the dilemma of to be or not to be for the peasant association determined to face the tough trials that mark its history.

Already standing out in this legacy is the Caproca project, joined by 22 cooperative members of the municipality eager to reaffirm that at no stage can the human element be neglected, while promoting greater use of science and technology and the application of all that is regulated.

Training and study exist. For both leaders and representative farmers of the guild, efficiency is placed at the top rung: a sure way to achieve profitability and strengthen the task of substituting imports.

Today, Guáimaro has 3,047 farmers, 29 representatives from Agricultural Production Cooperatives (CPA), and 18 from Credit and Services Cooperatives (CCS).
