To learn firsthand about the causes of non-compliance in the delivery of milk to the industry and to seek alternatives aimed at reversing the situation, Regla Grisel Frómeta Rivera, provincial president of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP), conducted a tour this week in the municipality of Guáimaro.

Among the productive bases visited by the rural leader were the Credit and Services Cooperatives (CCS) “José Antonio Echeverría” and “Armando Cardoso,” as well as the Agricultural Production Cooperative “Joaquín de Agüero y Agüero,” where she exchanged views with several members.

The non-payment for milk, the poor condition of the roads providing access to collection points, and the lack of alternative routes to deliver the product to the dairy were some of the concerns raised by farmers from northern Guáimaro.

Frómeta Rivera evaluated the objective and subjective problems of the meeting together with the farmers; at the same time, she identified a lack of commitment from some producers to meet milk delivery plans, which has led the territory to consistently fail in this economic sector.

This work is carried out through commissions made up of party and government officials, as well as representatives from the Agriculture, Meat, and Dairy sectors—organizations and entities involved in productive processes alongside the rural organization at the provincial level.

Participating in the tour were Diugmel Jiménez Peña, municipal president of ANAP, and Rafael Rodríguez Cruz, Agriculture delegate in Guáimaro.
