February, 2026. — Writing is an act of creation that transcends the ordinary. It is not about pursuing awards or recognition, but about offering the reader an experience that invites reflection and discovery, on every page, of the uniqueness of a style and the strength of an authentic literary voice.
Guáimaro, a land of history and culture, has given life to writers who honor its legacy. Among them stands out Diusmel Machado Estrada, who turns words into a mirror of his surroundings. His texts evoke the landscape, childhood, women, and life itself, with a realism imbued with tenderness and humanity. His pen transforms into a brush, capable of painting emotions and scenes that remain in the reader’s memory.
The same intensity is felt in the work of Miriam Estrada Medina, the poet’s mother. Her books convey strength, sincerity, and a restlessness that grips from the very first page. Reading her is entering a universe where truth becomes a creative impulse and passion becomes companionship.
Inevitable questions then arise: what projects inspire them? What motivates them to continue creating? How do their works dialogue with contemporary Cuban literature? These questions open a space to understand not only their artistic output but also their vision of the world.
Mother and son form an exemplary duo. They represent serenity, active love, and infinite patience. Both give knowledge and imagination every day, convinced that literature is a force capable of expanding horizons and sowing goodness.
For them, the reader should not be limited to receiving words: they must feel, discover love within themselves, and project their own light along the way. Works such as *Titi y Mamita* and *Nuestros amigos del Caroní* have won over the most demanding and sincere of audiences: children, the supreme judges of tenderness and truth.
