Remembering is reliving what made us grow.

Remembering is reliving what made us grow.

Dec, 2025.- Upon arriving at the Instituto Politécnico Agropecuario Levantamiento de Jucaral in Guáimaro, I felt a wave of memories envelop me with the warmth of a tender embrace. It was as if time had turned back and returned me to those pre-university student years, the brightest and most beautiful chapter of my life.

In my mind reappeared the cultural craziness I so much enjoyed, that eagerness to feel like an artist without fear or reservations. Again and again, I took to the stage, whether to sing, dance, or enthusiastically imitate the most popular voices of the time. Each performance was an act of youthful freedom, a moment of plenitude that still brings smiles and stirs my soul today.

Between memories and anecdotes, I relived the taste of sincere friendships that blossomed there and the teachings of teachers who left an indelible mark on the educational history of my homeland. We didn't call them by their names, but by affectionate nicknames that still resonate: Profe Pi, maestro Polo, Licenciado Rodo, professor Catá, Gli, the librarian Marbel, the mathematician Nieto, the brilliant professor Iliana Ortega who turned literature into a fascinating universe... and many others who contributed their wisdom, preparing the ground so that five years later, I could become a professional.

Years have passed since that unforgettable time when I chose the Bachelor’s degree in Arts and Letters. Thanks to the dedication of my parents — my mother, an inspiring flower; my father, a constant example — and my teachers’ commitment, I managed to turn that seemingly distant dream into reality.

The stage remains there, intact in essence: the classrooms, the dormitories, the laboratories. Only the faces of students and educators have changed, but the air we breathe is the same: the air of doing well, of forming the new man, of preparing futures with responsibility and dedication. That same air accompanied us when, after three shared courses, we had to face separation, carrying with us the certainty that we had learned to value life more seriously and to set goals that still guide us.

Today, every visit to the campus awakens in me an indescribable emotion. The scholarship dormitory, surrounded by lush vegetation, welcomes young people who train as mid-level technicians and skilled workers. There, the vocation of conscious educators is reborn, and the will of students—who, through the Federation of Middle Education Students (FEEM), proudly assume their essential role in the economic, cultural, and spiritual growth of the nation.
