Real Madrid outstanding, Barcelona passes with flying colors

Madrid, Nov. 3 - Life goes on in LaLiga de Spain, with a standout Real Madrid leading after their 4-0 thrashing of Valencia, allowing them to enjoy a five-point advantage over Barcelona today.

Although it is not exactly the best moment for Valencia, who are struggling at the bottom of the table, a bit more resistance was expected. However, they were overwhelmed by the Merengues, with two goals from the tournament's top scorer, Frenchman Kylian Mbappé, who now has 13 goals plus five in the Champions League.

Englishman Jude Bellingham had a good game, scoring one goal and contributing significantly defensively and offensively. Turkish player Arda Güler also stood out as a key figure in midfield, along with Brazilian Vinícius Júnior, who, however, continues to struggle with his finishing and even missed a penalty.

Left-back Álvaro Carreras made his mark as a scorer with a powerful strike reminiscent of the legendary Roberto Carlos, completing a performance with some relaxation ahead of the crucial match awaiting "Los Blancos" this Tuesday at Anfield against Liverpool.

While it is true that the English team is not at its best moment, playing at home in front of their special fans makes them a very tough opponent in the Champions League. For Real Madrid, a win would be a significant step toward qualifying among the top eight in the first round of the competition.

On the other hand, Barcelona saw more of the talent from attacking player Lamine Yamal, who contributed one of the three goals for the Catalans (the others from Ferrán Torres and Marcus Rashford) in their 3-1 victory over hard-working Elche.

After losing the Clásico against Real Madrid, it was a good performance that was enthusiastically praised by Barcelona's coach, Hansi Flick. Still dealing with injuries, including that of Pedri in midfield, the team functioned well under Frenkie de Jong's leadership in the center, supported by Marc Casadó and Fermín López.

The Blaugrana squad will face weak Bruges in Belgian territory, which will allow their coach, Hansi Flick, to test some new players while injuries persist, hoping that Yamal and the other forwards continue to perform at their best.

Confirming their exceptional form, Villarreal thrashed Rayo Vallecano 4-0 and maintained their third position in the Spanish league, with goals from Gerard Moreno, Moleiro, Comesaña, and the recently recovered Ayose Pérez.

In this way, the Yellow Submarine confirmed that they arrive this season with ambitions to secure at least a ticket to the upcoming Champions League.

The team managed by Marcelino García Toral can also achieve relief in the current Champions League against Pafos from Cyprus, but not so for Athletic Bilbao against English Newcastle.

In the Basque derby, Bilbao fell to Real Sociedad 2-3.

Meanwhile, Atlético Madrid defeated Sevilla 3-0, thus maintaining their fourth place, one point behind Villarreal and eight points behind Real Madrid. The Colchonero team will face the current leader of the Belgian championship, Union Saint Gillois.

In the upcoming week of Champions League matches, alongside the Real Madrid-Liverpool clash, another titanic battle is projected: the current and imposing champion Paris Saint-Germain against Bayern Munich.
