Cuba Denounces U.S. Attack on Venezuelan Oil Industry

Havana, Dec. - The Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez, accused the United States government of unleashing a war on multiple fronts against Venezuela, denouncing the recent cyberattack on Pdvsa.

On his social media account X, the foreign minister denounced that this latest hostile act against the South American country's oil corporation was aimed at paralyzing the operation of this important Venezuelan institution.

According to the head of Cuban diplomacy, "these actions are part of psychological warfare and increased pressure by the United States government to overthrow the Venezuelan government," led by the constitutional president Nicolás Maduro.

On Monday afternoon, the authorities of the company Petróleos de Venezuela (Pdvsa) reported a cyberattack intended to halt its operations.

The entity categorically rejected "this despicable action, orchestrated by foreign interests in collusion with traitorous elements seeking to undermine the country's right to sovereign energy development," states a statement from the institution.

Washington deployed military forces and assets in the Caribbean Sea, lurking off the coast of the South American country, from which it seized cargo from one of its oil tankers on the high seas. To date, the whereabouts of the crew remain unknown.
