Massive solidarity march with Palestine culminates in Istanbul

Istanbul, January 3rd - More than half a million people participated in a massive march in solidarity with Palestine, which culminated at the iconic Galata Bridge in the Turkish city of Istanbul, according to the event organizers on Friday.

The mobilization, called by the Alliance for Humanity and the Platform of National Will, involved the participation of more than 400 civil society organizations and associations.

The initiative was supported by the Turkish Youth Foundation under the slogan "We will not give in, we will not remain silent, and we will not forget Palestine."

The demonstrators demanded an end to Israeli military actions against the Palestinian people and denounced what they called massacres in the occupied territories.

During the event, large banners with messages such as "Justice for Gaza" and "Long Live Palestine" were displayed, alongside the flags of Türkiye and Palestine.

The attendees chanted slogans in support of the Palestinian people and expressions rejecting Israel, as well as singing religious and national chants.

The day included artistic performances, songs, and solidarity anthems, and was extensively covered by local and international media. Ministers, parliamentarians, political leaders, and leaders of civil society organizations attended the event.

According to the organizers, the mobilization gathered about 520,000 people and concluded with speeches and prayers in tribute to the martyrs and the Palestinian people.

The Vice President of Türkiye, Cevdet Yılmaz, expressed his gratitude to all participants and organizers. In a message shared on social media, he stated that from Istanbul, "hundreds of thousands of greetings were sent to the Palestinian people, to Gaza, and to all oppressed peoples of the world," highlighting the humanitarian and supportive nature of the mobilization.
