Camagüey.- The "Mirando al Mar" Detachments have become, in this central-eastern territory of Cuba, a stronghold in protecting our borders and are reinforcing their actions in response to the aggressive escalation sponsored by the United States government, with the most palpable event being the Corralillo incident in Villa Clara, where an infiltration group attempted to penetrate and subvert order in the country.
This structure, encouraged by the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR), together with the Border Guard Troops (TGF), operates in six coastal municipalities with more than 200 members, of whom 26% are women, according to information signed by the ideological secretary of the local mass organization leadership.
In the fight against drug trafficking, collaborators and TGF forces seized 27.90 kilograms of cocaine and 92.5 kilograms of hashish, while also remaining vigilant to prevent the depredation of flora and fauna.
As part of the "For a Safe Cuba" exercise, actions were carried out in Puerto Piloto, Curugu, Playa Guanaja, Santa Lucía, and Santa Cruz del Sur.
Border Guard Troops, belonging to the Ministry of the Interior, acknowledge the support of the detachments in fulfilling missions, including uncovering possible drug trafficking activities and illegal departures from the country, among other tasks.
The specialized training to face an increasingly complex scenario due to imperial policy requires raising the skill level of detachment personnel and incorporating new young members as part of continuity, so that Cuba, surrounded by sea on all sides, remains an impenetrable barrier.
