Camagüey, February 5th. — In tribute to the 107th anniversary of the birth of Fernando Chenard Piña, a martyr of the sector, and coinciding with the Centenary of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz and the 65th anniversary of the founding of the Ministry of Domestic Trade, the Day of the Worker in Commerce, Gastronomy, and Services was celebrated.

Ernesto Rodríguez Acosta, "El Chino," who has dedicated nearly sixty years to the sector, received the Martyr’s Plaque representing their pride in belonging to the Basic Business Unit Rancho Luna in the city of Camagüey.

He shared with satisfaction some of the principles he currently upholds as a sales assistant and the diversification of services reaching communities and educational centers.

With his perseverance, kindness, dedication, good work, and excellent service, El Chino is one of many examples of how a gastronomy professional should be.

“Experience, 59 years in the sector, contributed to my growth. Always with the principle that the customer is right because those of us in gastronomy owe ourselves to the people,” he emphasized.

During the event, several outstanding collectives were recognized, including the establishments La Perla de Cuba, La Tuya, La Paella, La Volanta, and the Energy Saving Program.

At the Casino Campestre Cultural Center, the venue for the activities, Yolexi Rosales Ramírez, secretary of the Provincial Bureau of the Trade Union, praised the work of the members, their revolutionary and patriotic spirit, as well as the unity of the men and women of the profession in the efforts toward the country’s economic recovery.
