Guáimaro, January 13th - In the easternmost part of Camagüey, a group of young people honored José Martí through the reading of his "Simple Verses." The event recalled the legacy of the Apostle of Independence of the largest of the Antilles, today more relevant than ever in the reality of a nation ready to eternally defend its achievements.
The gathering opened paths to human sensitivity and timely reflection: each poem by Cuba's most universal figure assures the way to an intimate understanding of a creator who wrote for children, for women, and for all the people, praising nature and painting with his prose the colors of Cuba.
The participants agreed that Martí's work constitutes a distant imprint, a light and guide of collective conscience, justice, and humanity. In every stanza of José Martí beats the relevance of a thought that calls for tenderness, respect, and the sacred safeguard of dignity.
Once again, in January, it is reaffirmed that the master remains a living presence in the formation of new generations, who turn his work into an eternal commitment to the homeland.
