Guáimaro, November 11 - This Tuesday, Camagüey radio broadcasters bid farewell to one of their own: the distinguished sports commentator and narrator Luis Florencio Rodríguez Peláez.
A worker at Radio Cadena Agramonte since 1996, Luis Florencio leaves behind a legacy of four decades with top-level performance in his specialty, as well as in broadcasting, serving as an example for new generations.
In 1984, he worked at Radio Rectángulo, now CMHN Radio Guáimaro, and later joined the team at the municipal radio station in Nuevitas.
Throughout his professional career, he received awards at national media festivals and in competitions organized by the Institute of Sports, Physical Education, and Recreation (INDER), in addition to several honors and recognitions, including his inscription in 1998 in the Honor Labor Book of the province of Camagüey.
Rodríguez Peláez passed away at the age of 64 due to health issues that had required greater care for some time, but which never distanced him from his passion for sports and his eternal companion, radio. (Photos taken from Facebook)
