Camagüey, January 19 - Experts from the Network of Offices of the Historian and Conservator of Cuba and related institutions are preparing today for the 17th International Symposium of Cities, to be held in early February in the province of Camagüey.

Under the title "Challenges in the management and governance of cities," the event will take place on the first two days of next month at the Santa Cecilia Convention Center, under the auspices of the Office of the Historian of the City of Camagüey and the Municipal Assembly of People's Power, detailed the Cuban News Channel.

The central theme will focus on the historic urban landscape and its potential for the comprehensive development of heritage zones, explained Ernesto Guzmán, the principal specialist of the Master Plan of the Office of the Historian of Camagüey, to that media outlet.

Additionally, issues related to tools for heritage urban management, the integration of new architecture, climate adaptability, and innovative heritage technologies will be addressed.

Presentations from various countries, master classes, and interventions by specialists from the Network of Offices of the Historian and Conservator of Cuba constitute the core program of the event, which, on its 20th anniversary, will be dedicated to doctors Lourdes Gómez and Gina Rey, leading figures in the field.
