Florida, Nov 19 – As part of the strategy for the prevention, control, and elimination of arboviruses transmitted by the Aedes Aegypti mosquito, workers from the Anti-Vector Campaign, the Commerce Company, and the Sports Sector in Florida are applying adulticide treatment in areas where Dengue and Chikungunya transmission has been reported.
These actions, which also involve soldiers from the Special Battalion of the Camagüey and Florida Youth Labor Army, reaffirm the importance of implementing the family, workplace, and school Autofocal approach aimed at discovering, destroying, and preventing vector breeding sites in homes, workplaces, and educational centers with the goal of reducing the presence of all mosquito species.
The application of adulticide is included as part of the Integrated Management strategy to control, reduce, or eliminate disease-transmitting mosquitoes.
