Recetofilia or the flavor of Evelin Queipo's universe

Camagüey — Recetofilia is a volume that overflows with passion. Those of us who know its author, the Camagüey writer Evelin Queipo, know that everything she does is marked by that pursuit of perfection that defines her.

One day she invited me to try a custard she made for her daughter's snack. My delight was such that she confessed she loved making sweets for her friends; then I knew that our complicity went beyond the simple exchange of texts. More than ten years have passed... and I can say that I keep both her literary work and the emotional memory of the flavor with which her universe beats.

That is why it did not surprise me that, in the hardest moment of the COVID-19 pandemic in Cuba, Evelin intertwined her passions to put into verses the recipes of some of her desserts, and, in an act of infinite generosity, shared them on her Facebook page.

Such was the uproar on the networks that our friend Yanetsy León asked her to publish her verses on the "Summer Compass" page of the newspaper Adelante, in 2021.

Thus was born the idea of Recetofilia, a book published by Editorial Ácana in 2022, with editing by Emilio Antonio Ramírez Vargas, cover design by Maykel Sardaña, and photographs by the author herself. After a long wait, it has been one of the new releases from this publishing house to greet the 59th anniversary of the Cuban Book Institute, and therefore it was the protagonist of Book Saturday this April 25th on Maceo Street.

From Adelante I invite you to covet a copy, to live the magic of these pages, the magic of Evelin Queipo, with the certainty that the Richter scale will never be able to measure the intensity of her passions.
