Camagüey, Dec.— As part of the country's efforts to advance the development of various projects that impact the economy and social sphere, the Construction and Assembly Company Number One of Camagüey will complete a group of investments by 2025, while others are expected to be finished next year.
This collective, recipient of the Labor Achievement Flag, has more than four decades of experience and is regarded, due to the specialization of its technicians and workers, as a benchmark in the maintenance of roads and bridges, hydraulic works, and civil construction.
With the aim of ensuring the development of renewable energy sources in Cuba, the company is undertaking the construction of the Ortigal photovoltaic park, located in the municipality of Florida.
The project began in August of this year and is expected to be completed by early 2026, providing 21 megawatts to the National Electric Power System.
According to information provided by Pedro Javier Pérez Tarajano, Director of Operations and Business at Construction Company 1 Camagüey, earthworks and the construction of foundations to support the containers holding the technological panels are currently ongoing, along with progress in the foundation of the pillars for the tables and solar panels.
With local resources and a lot of effort, a crew managed to convert a premises located in the municipality of Florida into a two-story building with 12 apartments that will benefit several families in the area.
Engineer Fran Cribeiro García, director of the company, explained that the entity managed to recover a group of essential means and equipment for the transportation of resources and for the work on site, as a result of the dedication and creative ingenuity of the workers.
The director added that, as a continuation of the maintenance and repair program for the runways at the country’s main airports, work was carried out at Ignacio Agramonte and Loynaz airports in Camagüey to replace all the damaged asphalt and lay the wearing course, allowing around 22 flights per week to operate at that terminal.
All of this was made possible by the commitment of those currently working in several Basic Business Units, specialized in different types of projects, who face daily shortages of resources and limitations but are characterized by the strong will and dedication typical of the people of Agramonte.
