Santiago de Cuba.- At the Santa Ifigenia Heritage Cemetery, where the remains of prominent figures from our history are treasured, the Key to the Hero City was awarded to the La Colmenita Children's Theater Company, and the José Martí Mausoleum Distinction was granted to the iconic Rebel Quintet.
According to Carlos Alberto "Tin" Cremata Malberti, "receiving the Key to the City of Santiago de Cuba is an honor that entails commitment, especially in the year of the Centenary of the Commander in Chief, Fidel Castro Ruz," within the context of the activities taking place throughout the country in tribute to our Historic Leader.
Led by Beatriz Johnson Urrutia, member of the Party Central Committee and its First Secretary here, the award ceremony also included a tour of the funeral monuments of the National Hero, the Father and Mother of the Homeland, as well as the unforgettable Frank País and the great Cuban troubadours.
Likewise, the Rebel Quintet earned the José Martí Mausoleum Distinction, granted by the Provincial Government of Popular Power, for their contribution to national culture and the defense of our most distinctive values.
