Educational centers in Camagüey employ various teaching alternatives.

Camagüey, February 14th – Faced with the energy blockade imposed by the United States government against Cuba, the determination to maintain the teaching-learning process through the use of different alternatives is imperative, stated Loreley Suárez Capdevila, General Director of Education.

She emphasized as a priority that all students receive pedagogical attention amidst the complex situation, while maintaining a permanent link between teachers, students, and families to ensure the effectiveness of each measure.

Appearing on the local TV station TV Camagüey, she added that the decisions adopted are aimed at maintaining the highest possible in-person attendance. In this regard, childcare centers, half-day primary schools, and special schools continue to operate.

Basic secondary schools maintain double sessions as long as the school snack service is ensured. Meanwhile, external centers for pre-university and polytechnic education continue to operate with full enrollment and according to established schedules, she pointed out.

Suárez Capdevila commented that, amid the current situation, boarding students have returned to their home regions, as have teachers, who have been relocated, with the necessary study guides, to schools near their place of residence.

She noted that special attention during this period is required for twelfth-grade students, as they must continue intensive preparation for university entrance exams and other rigorous assessments.

On the other hand, she indicated that fourth-year students of the Provincial Pedagogical School Nicolás Guillén Batista who have completed their fourth year are now located in their municipalities, while those studying other years will attend classes at nearby institutions, where they will also support the teaching-educational process as part of their pre-professional practice.
